So in short, we had to let people vote on Prop 8 to prove that Prop 8 shouldn't have been voted on? AMERICA! Still, there may be something infinitely more satisfying in seeing this institutionalized bigotry get shot down after the bigots think they got their way.

Here's why every time I see Jesse Jackson sobbing, every time I see Rachel Maddow glance up at the camera with her eyes dancing, every time I see footage of Chris Matthews looking around in abject disbelieving joy or Stephen Colbert pausing to wipe his eyes before launching himself back into character, every time I see people dancing in the streets of America and around the world, every time I see Barack Obama walk out to that podium and look out at the country he's now promised to lead to the best of his ability, I weep. My eyes don't well up. I weep.

Moving away from the political, apparently Billie Piper is a rumored contender for the next Doctor? Uh, NO? No. How creepy would it be, regenerating into the form of a companion you fell for? That's just perverse. xD

Two benadryl and an ambien and I STILL woke up in three hours. I'm starting to wonder if it's going to take that ativan to get a full night's sleep anymore...

It's only been two days, and Obama already has a chief of staff and a senior adviser good to go. Now that's progress! xD And apparently, the current dog of the White House is piiiiiiissed about losing his big green lawn, because he bit a reporter. Bad dog! No diplomatic immunity.

I found out something that makes me feel really excellent about Obama going into office, more so than I did before and I felt pretty damn great about him before... He actually pays attention to what he says. Like, he goes back and listens to himself. He's self-aware! And he's also funny as hell when he's being candid.

"So when Brian Williams is asking me about what's a personal thing that you've done [that's green], and I say, you know, 'Well, I planted a bunch of trees.' And he says, 'I'm talking about personal.' What I'm thinking in my head is, 'Well, the truth is, Brian, we can't solve global warming because I f---ing changed light bulbs in my house. It's because of something collective'."

Now, this is disgusting. A black church in Massachusetts was burned the night of the election. I'm appalled that it happened at all, but I'm also really confused that it happened in Massachusetts. Seriously? New England wouldn't have been my first guess for the location of race-based arson.

Everyone's all in a kerfuffle over the First Dog and what breed it will be. I have to say I'll be kind of disappointed if it's a poodle. >> I know, good for allergies and all, but... a poodle? Or a labradoodle, which is what one of the girls suggested? Oh my god those dogs are so ugly. They look like llamas.

My question is, when's the last time there was a cat in the White House? There are cats in Downing Street, why not Pennsylvania Avenue? :P

I have a problem. That problem is the basket of candy next to my chair. I have eaten so many Tootsie Rolls in the past two days that my eyes have turned brown. (...wait...) I need something healthier on which to focus my grazing tendencies. Possibly a sport-sized bucket of sunflower seeds.

Peggle Nights is almost beaten through. Then I will turn my attention toward 100% clears. Oh, Peggle, how I've missed having you to waste time on. You give such good procrastination.

be it ever so humble...

I think I'm the only person in the house who doesn't hate someone else living here right now. Rachael has it out for my parents, Julia has it out for my mom, my dad said something mean about Rachael and called my mom a bitch, and my mother stormed out of the house and slammed the door behind her.

...well then. I'm just staying up in my room with my book and my cat. Nice and quiet and in the farthest point in the house from everyone else. >>

The word was that we were all going into Syracuse to hit the mall, and when that was rescinded was when all the fighting began, as far as I know. I got all showered and dressed and stuff... and now I am going back to slouchy pajama pants, because jeans are for people with places to go, and I am not one of those people. So: laying around in bed, listening to mellow music, lighting some candles, reading until I can't any more.

My attention span is too shot for reading anything serious, so for the moment I have set aside Dreams From My Father in favor of Gears of War: Aspho Fields. Nice and uncomplicated.
