Seriously, I am so glad I kind of tripped into being part of the Heroes fandom. In fandomsecrets people always complain about how batshit their fandoms are, and I have seen nothing but love with the people I've met since October. Everyone is so nice and there is so much cracky fun and, just, you guys are all awesome. ♥


So, I want to write 250 more words before I go to bed, but I have hit a wall on Erased (which is what I am tentatively calling the sequel to Marked) and I am stalling out on everything else as soon as I think of it. *sigh* So I'm going to call a halt to it, do a meme over at drive_thru_rx, and hit the sack.

My dad always says (jokes around, but not really) that Julia is his favorite. And I know, everyone is important and stuff.

But Julia just got a 120GB iPod. Mine is 60GB and filled to capacity. I don't even know if she knows enough of anything to use up 120 gigs.

*sigh* I am such a covetous bitch. But I have to fill that sexy silver baby for her, and god, it's so beautiful...

Oh, and to top it off, my dad came in and was like "ooh, your phone is nicer than mine, I might take it." And I KNOW that was a joke but, come on, you can only mock a geek with technology so much in one day before she breaks down in tears.

No, you know what? I refuse to be like this. 2009 doesn't have to be like 2008, I am coming into this year with a positive attitude.

So instead of being petulant about this iPod thing, I am going to pack that sumbitch full of things Julia will like. The entire series of Skins. All those indie movies she's asked for. Anything I can think of, I will get and switch over to mp4 and go the extra mile to see if I can get her to smile at all, because I realize now that I miss seeing my sister smile.

I don't have a mantra, but I sure as hell can have a reminder: there is always a way to rise above what I feel. I just have to be willing to find it.

I went out to the garage to get a soda, came up to my room with it and dinner, and cracked open the can...

I do not have Cherry Coke, I have a slushie. o.o No wonder, it's 17 degrees out, but I didn't realize it was THAT cold. Whoa.

I just hijacked the lights from the Christmas tree. My room's lighting, let me pimp it out.

...after I said "I'm going to make jewelry instead of writing!" I... started writing. Reverse psychology ftw? xD Is it sad that it works on myself? I think it might be.

You know what I hate? I hate it when people upload things to Rapidshare. If you're going to split it into 100MB parts, just use Mediafire, they don't make you wait and they let you download more than one part at a time and they are just superior, all right, the end.

...yeah, I'm still downloading things for Julia's iPod. And I told her I was doing it, and she was like, "okay."

New mantra: I do not expect gratitude. I do things for people because I enjoy being a pleasant, helpful, and generous person, not because I expect praise, even if it is nice to get.

I should probably start listing these in my sidebar. So I will never forget. Like the ten commandments, only it's the ten things to tell myself to keep from freaking out sometimes.

Anyhoo. I am done nominating for the heroes_slash awards. I kept having problems with the Best Characterization categories, because... a lot of the best fics for that are gen. *shrug* And a lot of my omgfavorites! were written before 2008.

It is hard to write about dates. There's a lot of dialogue and no action. And I think this is going to be the second in a trilogy. Have I ever completed a trilogy before? I'm not sure... Anyway it's totally fluffy and will probably end up, like, PG. :O

My mom made cookies. I'm going to grab a few of those after I start some laundry, and then I can finally treat myself to So NoTORIous. :D

Okay. Well. That wasn't what I meant to do when I opened this window, but it works.

I am way too dutiful of a daughter. I am going to bed early so I can go with my family to church in the morning. *sigh* On the positive side, I may be scoring some of the best plant in the world tomorrow, so it may even out...

Not wanting to tax my computer with it, I moved all those videos downstairs to switch formats on the family computer. Hopefully it won't error out and tomorrow morning the whole first season of Skins will be good to go.

Lighting my room with just strings of (fairy) lights (I like the way people outside the US call them!) is optimal. Nice ambient light, bright enough to do anything I need to, not so bright that it bothers a headache. It's like... ghetto track lighting. xD
