I post this poll every so often when I get new people on my flist. You don't have to fill this out if you're already on the filters, and if you're on the filters, you will know it from earlier today.

My journal's tenth birthday is coming up in 10 days. I would like to do something to commemorate the occasion.

I went back to sleep and woke up again around 10:30... it must have been just around dawn, or not long after, when the storm rolled through. When I woke up for keeps, the sky was the most flawless blue, not a cloud to be seen, and the temperature was just perfect. Naturally, I wasted the day inside reading fanfiction (seriously though, if I look away from

Tomorrow, and I know I've been saying this since May but I mean it this time, I've got to get at least halfway done with the Unpleasant Thing or I'm not going to get any financial aid and then I'll be royally fucked. Once I get going on it it shouldn't be so hard to complete, I just have to be firm with myself... which is not something I'm terrific at, if you haven't noticed. And then tomorrow night at 9 I'm going to see Scott Pilgrim with Patrick and potentially some other people from Wells I have yet to make the online acquaintance of. Meeting someone IRL for the first time is always a slightly nerve-wracking experience, but I've been expecting to meet him since he opened his first message telling me he was a Wellsian too, so it's not too bad.
I also hope to get my hair dyed tomorrow. I'm going back to my natural brown, because when it's as short as it is, my roots start to show through ridiculously fast, and I don't want to have to worry about dying it every month while I've got classes going. I'm thinking I also need a trim because I'm looking a bit unkempt, but Rachael says I barely have enough hair to cut. Not that I'm particularly worried about HER opinion, but... well, it is short, there's not much that needs doing to it. Just a little bit of cleaning up the fuzzy edges, really.
Now, have a poll I was thinking about in the shower this afternoon.

So far I have packed away Robin Hobb, Jim Butcher, Charlaine Harris, Neil Gaiman, Neal Stephenson, Mercedes Lackey, and Jeff Lindsay. I'm going to need a larger tote for J.K. Rowling, Diane Duane and Dianna Wynne Jones. I'm doing a pretty good job at paring down only my absolute favorite books and movies to bring with me to Wells... the media equivalent of comfort blankets.
On the plus side, I got my bill totally handled, and I don't actually owe them any money. In fact, I might be getting $150 back... of course that's immediately going to go to textbooks, but hey, everything helps.
I also got the book list for my classes, and it looks like I'll be dropping about $450 on textbooks this time around. The list isn't specific about what edition I'll need, so I can't go checking for cheaper ones online. Not that I have money to get cheaper ones, either. Gah.
