April 1st, 2008
Parting my hair off-center is enough of a big hairstyle change to make me pleasantly startled when I look in the mirror. Having it almost-straight smooth helps, too. Part of me is screaming "Time for a haircut!" but the other part realizes that being able to pull it back > having it too short to do anything but hang there.
My eBay auctions mostly end today. I will be completely thrilled if I break $250 on all of them combined. Of course, then I have the problem of getting the money off PayPal and into a bank account... I still need to get up to my bank and settle that whole thing with them, so I can do the mailing-out.
I have nearly run out of crosswords in my favorite books. There are smaller, less-difficult ones in other books, but I'm pretty fond of the difficulty level and the sheer number of them I've got in the compilations from the New York Times and USA Today. Time to go check out the Borders section again... no one can mock me for getting a new crossword book, it's been long enough since the last one.
Torchwood series one cast commentary: worth rewatching for? I vote yes, but I haven't actually tried one yet.
TOMORROW. As in April 2, tomorrow... I will finally have my Jumpsuited Hound Dog. \o/ I will be winnar at KoL... after that it's just a straight run for level 30. If I save up adventures for Mysticality days, I might be able to do that by halfway through the month.
...is it a surprise to anyone that my next layout is going to be Ianto and Myfanwy? I hope not. I enjoy having a dinosaur in my layout, I discovered with Harry Dresden and Sue-the-T.Rex. But, pterodactyls > zombie t. rexes. And I am so painfully obviously obsessed with Ianto. I didn't realize that

What won't be fun is battling the dishes tomorrow; they've developed sentience and they look malevolent. That's okay, I'll just shove something under my door and deal with them in the morning.

Today is too much for me, I think I'm going to crawl back under my covers. ;_; I woke up and my computer screen was upside-down, there were vowels disappearing from sites I was looking at... and then GOOGLE RICKROLLED ME.
I think I need a cigarette.
- Mood:
shocked

No lunch till I'm done, but then-- leftover butter chicken ftw!

I don't know. The music is making a small part of me that used to hold faith ache. I remember, distantly, believing. It feels like so long ago-- and really, it was, almost a decade. But recently I've had urges to pull down my bible, the little one I was given in 1993 when I became a junior soldier, and flip through it, finding what made me know with such conviction that there is a God, one that might even care about small, insignificant me.
My mother would go wild if she knew what I was thinking.
(also, omg John Barrowman was such a baby! his voice!)

It's so ridiculously nice out. And my Firefox is ridiculously fucked (thanks, Kristin), so I give up on the internet for today. Reading on the porch, A++.

Djarums are tasty. The Fair Folk is also tasty. I had olives, carrots, and homemade trail mix for dinner... the trail mix is almost all gone, but it was a resounding success in terms of deliciousness.
I do believe I want a nap now.
- Mood:
satisfied
Didn't take that nap; Lost Room instead. I've got three parts to go and it's making me crazy.
Also making me crazy: it takes 45 minutes to make texmati brown rice? Geez. Organic stuff is hard work you guys. I just want dinner.
Tomorrow's supposed to be cold, but after that it's all a rise in the mercury. I'm ready, Spring, I've been ready. Now it's on you.
- Mood:
excited
Kristin and I were on the porch, having a shmoke, when there was a crack and a boom and LIGHTNING except it wasn't lightning, it was the power blowing for our side of the street. D:! So, I thought I saw a downed line and called 911 and they sent the firemen... it wasn't a downed line, but the nice (and cute) fireman told me that it was better that I called than not and had it actually been one.
And now the power is back. xD Kristin and I were like "hoshit, what do we do with no electricity?" We played Mancala by candlelight. It was kind of awesome. And now we get to institute our movies-in-a-hat game-- we each write down 5 things we want to watch, mixed them up in a hat, and picked. Tonight was Kristin's choice of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and now we actually get to watch it! \o/
Man, my adrenaline was pumped for a little while there. We actually thought we were narrowly missed by a snapped power line. (Considering the strength of the wind, and that it was blowing in our direction, and that the sparks came from very close to in front of our house... I think we can be excused.) Now everything's back to normal, thank goodness.
So now I'm going to GO GET MY JUMPSUITED HOUND DOG \o/ and then, movie! Woo!
- Mood:
oh man that was scary
