Mark Lanegan and Isobel Campbell - It's Hard to Kill a Bad Thing

Sweet, gentle instrumental. Guitar ftw.

Watched the Doctor Who season premiere. It was good. Not spectacular or anything.

The back of my neck hurts something fierce. D: It did last night, too.

I'm going to have a bagel, finish up Dewey's application, and go to bed. My life, it's so unbearably exciting.

Good morning world. I've been up since ten and I'm not sure why.

Anyway, time for a link post!

95% of teenagers illegally copy music. The other 5% don't know what music is.

Emo tree is emo. If I cut down a tree that had a frowny face in it, I would make pendants out of it and sell them to goths.

The President has the authority order interrogators to throw acid on people, poke their eyes out, slit their noses or ears... it all falls under "maiming", which is his prerogative to order as commander-in-chief. I feel sick.

Oh hay, though: The war expires on Dec. 31, 2008. It's already gone bad, let's throw it out now.

Why do women outlive menopause? Most animals don't outlive their own fertility, but human females go a long time after theirs stops... I'm just glad I had grandmothers.

Bill O'Reilly got goatse'd.

Organic MREs and soccer-mom-sized first aid kits: Middle-class survivalism. Talk about family planning. If we had a crisis right now, I'm pretty sure Kristin and I would be fucked. xD;

Wesley Wyndham-Price warns Salt Lake City that they need to prepare more thoroughly for zombie attacks.

Speaking of zombies, World War Z + David Fincher = omgOTP. I wish this would come true, it would make the best movie ever.

Speaking of David Fincher, Why frat boys ruined Fight Club for the rest of us.

This lady let her 9-year-old on the subway alone. I think that's bold, especially considering what a telling-off she got, but seriously-- if the kid's been living in the city his whole life, he can figure out a subway map, and he's even a little bit savvy, let him go for it.

Ten cool techy toys you can't get in the US yet. I would totally dig one of those freaky face piggybanks.

An analysis of GLADoS. Upside-down bondage woman? Ooookay.

Top 10 night photos, picked by Wired. The first one is absolutely gorgeous... and the fog/streetlight combination is very pretty.

And in other night-sky news, tomorrow night the crescent moon will be up close and personal with the Pleiades. I hope it won't be cloudy; that's going to be a lovely sight.

Okay. Shower, then a run to the corner store. go go gadget dani!
