Mmmm. I respect the plight of the polar bears, and I respect the thoughtfulness of Lee in getting all wet to prove a point. Someone who isn't me should make animated icons of him in the tub. >.>

Back when I was young, I was an information sponge. Even when I was too young to figure out book genres, I was always drawn to fantasy, fairy tales and mythology and cultural lore and legends. Between the ages of 7 and 12, I read the entire pertinent section of my local library. All of it. Taken out 15 books at a time.
My favorite specific telling of any tale is Beauty by Robin McKinley. I'll admit that I was swayed by the Disney movie. I was six years old when Beauty and the Beast came out and I immediately and irrevocably identified with Belle. Even at the age of six, the thought of being given an entire library as a gift was the most romantic and wonderful thing I'd ever heard. McKinley's interpretation breathed a whole different kind of life into the story than the saccharine movie... I think I've read it more than fifteen times, possibly more than 20, since I picked it up the first time. It's a comfort-blanket book to me.
As to mythologies... I never really got into the Norse pantheon. I loved Native American legends, but I don't remember much of what I read back then. I'm most familiar with Greek myths because I took a Classical Myth class in high school. Possibly my favorite myth of all time, though, is about the Japanese sun goddess Ameratsu, and how she was tricked out of being all depressed in a cave by Uzume, the goddess of mirth. :D
It's been a long time since I've read any mythology or fairy tales. Next time I go to the library, I'm going to find those old familiar Dewey Decimal numbers and hunt down some inspiration from long ago.

Sonnet XVII by Pablo Neruda.
Then I had dreams about climbing trees to knock down vines full of cranberries and pomegranates and apples, and staying up all night to watch a sick girl even though her doctor yelled at me to go to sleep every time he came back to check on her. And trying to make Spock eat fruit loops? idek.
I feel like my brain has been disconnected. Something here is not quite making the leap from senses to thoughts, or the other way maybe...
