N'AWWWWWWWWW. ♥ fennec foxes.
So. My plan for today:
-finalize the big bang fanmix (it goes up tomorrow oh god)
-make a cover for it
-do another chapter of botany homework
-then I can watch Big Bang Theory and see what I missed when CBS cut out for a minute. A minute could hold any number of punchlines!
-and if the repair guy actually comes I should do some laundry
-and also get my exercise in, lol I have an exercise routine that's so weird to think
I had really bizarre dreams about this fantasy kingdom with a strange system of magic. it was really well-developed, I wish I could remember more of it, but most of what's left is floating down a river on a raft. Not helpful for world-building.
V starts tonight! I'm pretty excited to see what that's all about. I tried watching the sneak preview online but my computer would not cooperate, so it'll all be new to me, which is cool.
Okay. Nose-deep in the revised version of the big bang fic I'm soundtracking. Focus, self.

I'm not positive, but I think the title is "lie back and think of Starfleet"
It's all covers... almost all covers, plus "Danger Zone". >.> I have seen this used before for rom-com soundtracks and I thought, hey, I could do that too.
In other cover song news, the Glee soundtrack dropped today and it's pretty awesome, if you like that stuff. Which I do. :D
I just need... honestly, two people, to tell me if it's okay, and then I can make a cover. Two people. Please.

1) As a general rule, you're not supposed to like covers more than originals but we all know that sometimes the cover is just better. What's your favorite cover that you think is better than the original song?
The traditional answer to this is: Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah blows Leonard Cohen out of the water. And I do believe that, but I have other opinions that come out in my listening habits. The cover songs I most listen to in favor of the originals: Calexico's cover of the Arcade Fire's "Ocean of Noise", Florence and the Machine's cover of Beirut's "Postcards from Italy", and Vienna Teng's cover of Damien Rice's "Cannonball".
2) Since Halloween just passed, I need to ask, what costume in the past did you put the most time, effort and money into? Do you think it was worth it?
Honestly? All of my costumes are cheap, tossed-together things. I don't think I've ever bought a costume in a bag, and I can't even count the number of times I've been a cat. My last costume, since I didn't do one this year or last year, was the Greek goddess Athena, and that was basically a nightgown with a little stuffed owl pinned to the breast. Not many people cared about my costume, I spent most of that night robotripping and reading tarot cards... ah, good times.
Most time and effort... I'm going to go with the only complicated one I can remember (which wasn't even very) and say it was when I dressed up as Vince Noir, King of the Mods.
3) Rainbow or chocolate sprinkles?
Chocolate, all the way. But I'll forgo sprinkles in favor of whipped cream, any time.
4) Dream job? (Could be anything at all - pretend schooling isn't needed or even make a job up that doesn't actually exist).
If I could make a living off of writing fanfic, I would be peachy with that. Well, i'd be broke right now since I've been not doing so well creatively for the past few months, but in general, shit yeah. Barring that, I'd love to be a professional student and just go to classes for the rest of my life. I like learning things. I'm kind of scared that when I'm done with school, I'm still not going to know anything I need to actually do anything.... so clearly the answer is to never leave school.
5) What is your opinion / feelings toward duct tape?
I am strongly in favor of duct tape. It's very useful, almost regardless of what you're doing. Many people do amazing things with it. I'm not one of them.
V is on in 15 minutes! Whee, new show excitement.

I was pathetically grateful to see Alan Tudyk, as I totally wasn't expecting him and may have squeaked when I saw his name in the credits. >.> He needs to do more stuff. And preferably not be evil, but that's not a dealbreaker.
I'm just so tired today. I have no enthusiasm, I got no writing done, I barely have the initiative to fold the clothes on my bed right now. :/ At least I got my fanmix finalized, the fic it's for goes up tomorrow so that was kind of squeaky with the deadline... in my defense the fic changed drastically from when I got it to the revision I got yesterday, so what I did have got thrown out anyway. (Except for Danger Zone. Ahaha, I love that that's my exception to everything.)
My big problem with the fic I'm working on is that I don't want to write it, I want to read it, as in I want somebody else to write for the pairing because it's not as much fun when it's all coming out of my head. My head is kind of a stupid place and really isn't as clever or funny as I sometimes delude myself into thinking it is. This is why rare fandoms aren't as much fun, it sucks when nobody else is doing anything. :(
I think I'm going to go to bed early.
