Day 28 - Favorite film from your favorite director

Again, I have to call this one out:

I love Quentin Tarantino and I love this movie.

Day 11 - A song that describes you

Ani DiFranco - Joyful Girl
i do it for the joy it brings
because i'm a joyful girl
because the world owes me nothing
and we owe each other the world
i do it because it's the least i can do
i do it because i learned it from you
i do it just because i want to
because I want to

and i wonder if everything i do
i do instead
of something i want to do more
the question fills my head
i know that there's no grand plan here
this is just the way it goes
and when everything else seems unclear
i guess at least i know

i do it for the joy it brings...

mostly because of my lip balm, I think

femmealunettes: (*thinks hard*)
My most panic-stricken dreams combine traveling and losing my purse. They seriously bother me for hours after I wake up sometimes. I don't know why my purse features in so many of my dreams. I'm not particularly attached to it... just the stuff inside it. >.>

Here, have something funny about overturning Prop 8:

Justin Long ♥ It made me giggle, anyways.

I don't have much to say yet today. Movie time soon, food time first.

Oh wait, I do have something to say! Today is the closing arguments of the Prop 8 Trial in California, so I'll be reloading the Prop 8 Trial Tracker somewhat compulsively all day long. Keep your fingers crossed for Judge Walker to be as fair and rational as he's appeared to be throughout this trial so far.

femmealunettes: (music is life.)
I am finally moving all my music from the internal drive (Tyndall) to the external drive (Gabriel), and it is slow going because for some reason I can't just drag the whole "My Music" folder from one to the other, no, I have to drag the subfolders in small groups otherwise it says "can't read from disk". I have over 3700 artists in my iTunes library. That is a metric fuckload of dragging to do. I'm not even halfway through with the As and I've been at it for half an hour.

Then when I finish I have to take it over to Chuck and rebuild my entire library. Hopefully I can bring over my playlists without a problem or I'm going to be very cross. I take my music seriously.

Once I finish this, though, I will only have a few more things to do and then I can retire my desktop entirely. Whether I WILL is another matter, but it will be possible.

If I were really ambitious I'd drag the laptop over and write while I'm doing this moving... but I'm not that ambitious. I have been making pretty good progress in the story I'm working on, though, so I'm pleased about that.

uh-oh

Disturbing realization: this folder doesn't contain any artists after the letter D.

I know the files still exist because I'm listening to Elvis Costello, but... where are they? I need to see them to make them move!

Oh god, it is just in time that I'm moving things to the external if this is the crap this computer is going to start pulling now. I love you, Arthur, but you're senile, poor thing.
femmealunettes: (tired.)
I didn't have time to watch a movie today, what with trying to get all my music taken care of (I made it up to the middle of the Es, at least), and I'm not going to watch one later because I am unreasonably exhausted for what little I did today. I'm going to bed early.

Tomorrow I have to give blood at 1 and I have my VESID appointment at 3, for which I need to make sure I have all the paperwork together. I'm 90% sure of where most of it is and the last bit of it I have to print out as soon as my dad gets me the link.

Reading through the Prop 8 Trial Tracker really made me feel hopeful. The Prop 8 people are really clumsy with their arguments and basically their reasoning is "because it's always been done this way and because we said so" instead of backing their arguments up with any kind of evidence. Let's hope sanity and equality prevail here...

Yawn. Good night, folks.
