Comment with any ship (romantic or platonic or maybe even non-existent!) from a fandom that you know I have some knowledge about, and I will rant about aforementioned ship. This may be incoherent gushing or exclamations of disgust, depending on your ship of choice.
- Music:Henry's VIII - Brown-Eyed Girl
It's not a very good poem but I wrote it! I haven't written poetry in years, so I'm really excited by the proof that I can still do it, even if only ineptly!
I actually woke up with the first two lines in my head and went from there. Let's hear it for inspiration!

2. List (and upload) 5 (or more, if you are so inclined) songs you love that begin with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

Cute is What We Aim For - The Curse of Curves
I want someone provocative and talkative but it's so hard when you're shallow as a shower
David Bowie - Cat People (Putting Out Fire)
See these eyes so green, I can stare for a thousand years. Just be still with me. You wouldn't believe what I've been through.
The Decemberists - California One/Youth and Beauty Brigade
nothing will stand in our way
Fall Out Boy - (Coffee's for Closers)
I will never believe in anything again
Henry's VIII - Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You
the sight of you leaves me weak, there are no words left to speak
Henry's VIII - Country Club of Wells (this is the Wells acapella group from the 60s, it's really funny)
when junior prom is every other week and movies every night, when we have time for eighteen holes a day, then we'll say you're right
Interpol - C'mere
It's way too late to be this locked inside ourselves. The trouble is that you're in love with someone else. It should be me, oh, it should be me.
James Taylor - Carolina in my Mind
Can't you see the sunshine? Can't you just feel the moonshine?
Jason Mraz - Childlike Wildlife
once an hour I light the flower and burn baby burn
The Mountain Goats - Collapsing Stars
When we hid out behind the risers at the high school, working bitter calculations with a slide rule. The grim particulars of poisoning the swimming pool, the way you looked me in the eye, ready to die. We were becoming what we are, collapsing stars.
Mumford and Sons - Cousins (cover of Vampire Weekend)
you can turn your back on the bitter world
The National - Conversation 16
I was afraid I'd eat your brains 'cause I'm evil
The Postal Service - Clark Gable
I want so badly to believe that there is truth, that love is real, and I want life in every word to the extent that it's absurd
Radiohead - Climbing Up The Walls
I am the key to the lock in your house that keeps your toys in the basement, and if you get too far inside you'll only see my reflection
Regina Spektor - Chelsea Hotel #2 (Leonard Cohen cover)
I remember you well in the Chelsea Hotel, you were famous, your heart was a legend. You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.
Sea Wolf - The Cold, the Dark & the Silence
Please don't fight, don't fight with me and fold your arms like it's the end. Can you smell the sweetness of the soil and snow in the wind?
The Shins - Caring is Creepy
It's a luscious mix of words and tricks that let us bet when you know we should fold
Vampire Weekend - Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa
Is your bed made? Is your sweater on? Do you want to fuck like you know I do?
The Weakerthans - Confessions of a Futon Revolutionist
We'll talk the night away. You call in sick, I'll quit the word-games that I play. I swear I way more than half believe it when I say that somewhere love and justice shine. Cynicism falls asleep. Tyranny talks to itself. Sappy slogans all come true. We forget to feed our fear.
Willie Nelson - Cowboys are Frequently (Secretly Fond of Each Other)
Cowboys are frequently secretly fond of each other. What did you think those saddles and boots was about? There's many a cowboy who don't understand the way that he feels towards his brother, inside every cowboy there's a lady who'd love to slip out.
- Music:Willie Nelson - Cowboys Are Frequently (Secretly Fond of Each Other)
It turns out that I am made of nylon.
I always thought I was made of tin.
I found out when your jagged words caught and snared on
when I thought they'd bounce off and I'd be safe in.
I guess it makes sense now that I think of it
although I'd much rather the reverse had been true:
it'd be nice for my words to make a direct hit
when I have sharp words to be said to you.
But nylon's got a lot of things in its favor
like tights and rope and colorful kites
and seatbelts that act as a life saver
and parachutes that bring people down from incredible heights.
So maybe the fact that I'm not made of metal
shouldn't be cause for any alarm.
Metal, after all, rusts and gets brittle
but you can sew nylon up after any kind of harm.
So what if now I've got runs up and down me
from all the cruel things you saw fit to say?
I've got needle and thread, and scars will look gutsy
and I'll live to save lives another day.
- Music:Two Door Cinema Club - What You Know
Not awesome thing: This weather is fucking terrifying, and when I told my parents how scared of it I am, my mother said "Oh, it's a sign of the end times." THANKS MOM, THAT'S REAL HELPFUL.
Cute thing: the thunderstorm is scaring the rats so much that they're hiding in the igloo when they've been spending all their time on the top shelf lately. I guess it's the closest thing they've got to a basement...
Okay thing: I have revised my poem so it sucks a little bit less, and my mom said she likes it, so that's something.
Really good thing: I have started roleplaying again and I am having a lot of fun with it!
Unsurprising thing: I have only watched one episode of Fringe... and it was an episode I had already seen, but I thought it was appropriate to begin from episode one since I watched it so many months ago. I have no focus...
- Music:My Chemical Romance - Destroya
