So I had a lovely weekend at Shane's house... which was interrupted by my mother texting to tell me that my parents decided to rent the house in New Bedford after all. Fucking fantastic, right? Just great. I tried to put it out of my mind.

Then when I got home, the top of the rat cage was open and 21 was nowhere to be found.

FUCKING FANTASTIC, RIGHT?

I found her within a half an hour-- she stayed in my room, which is good because otherwise she would have been killed by Sadie or one of the cats-- and she didn't try to bite me or anything, which is what my previous rat who escaped did when I found her, but there's a big difference between 21 and Clayton (21 couldn't have been out longer than a couple of days, Clayton was out up to two weeks because we were on vacation, also Clayton had a litter of babies in that time), so. No harm, no foul, pretty much.

Except all that relaxing I did this weekend went right out the fucking window and I am ALREADY feeling stressed out to the point where I don't want to deal with it any more. I haven't even been home an hour yet. Part of me wants to cry, part of me just wants to smoke a bowl and read fanfiction, part of me wants to hit my head against the wall until I knock myself unconscious.

I have nine hours to cheer up, or I'm going to start my 26th year on a very depressing note.

whatever, I'm just going to finish it now

24 – Betaing – How many betas do you like to use to make sure there aren't any major flaws in your fic? Do you have a Beta horror story or dream story?

I'm the kind of asshole who doesn't use a beta. If it's a story for someone else or for a challenge or something, I'll have one person read it over, but 90% of my fanfiction (and original fiction) isn't beta-read. I am overly confident in my own grasp of grammar and spelling, and it's not like you can have that many plot holes in porn.

25 – Music – Do you listen to music while you write? Do you make playlists to get into a certain "mood" to write your fic? Do you need noise in general? Or do you need it completely quiet?

Yes, I almost always listen to music when I write. I used to come up with playlists for characters, but now I mostly just listen to other people's fanmixes.

26 – What is the oddest (or funnest) thing you've had to research for a fic?

Oddest... probably types of erectile dysfunction. Most fun... well, it's always fun to research being high in order to write characters that are high.

27 – Where is your favorite place to write, and do you write by hand or on the computer?

I get most of my writing done in bed, on my computer. When I write by hand it's out of necessity, either because I don't have my computer with me or because I'm in class and everyone thinks I'm taking notes. I don't like writing by hand because anything I write out, I'm going to have to type up anyway, and it's harder to edit things on paper.

28 – Have you ever collaborated with anyone else, whether writing together, or having an artist work on a piece about your fic?

I used to co-author original fiction, but I can't recall ever collaborating on fanfiction. Any art that's been done for my fic was entirely unprompted on my part (but always appreciated).

29 – What is your current project or projects?

I'm trying to do a Kink Bingo line for Venture Brothers, but it's not going well. (I have more podfic projects going-- one Robin Hood, at least three Sherlock and at least two X-Men including a chaptered WIP.)

30 – Do you have a favorite fic you've written? What makes it your favorite? And don't forget to give us a link!

All of the things that I like most are terribly self-indulgent and it's kind of embarrassing to say "oh yeah, my favorite thing I've ever written is an AU where they're wizards." Twice as embarrassing when I never could finish the sequel I was writing to it. okay fine it's I Know It's Strange which is Chuck fic about a character I loved that everyone else seemed to hate and it's possibly the longest one-shot I've ever written. All of my favorite things I've written are AUs. This is not because I can't work within canon, because I can, but just because I really like AUs. (Also my favorite podfic I've ever recorded is an AU.)

femmealunettes: (glass of wine : Dr. Mrs. The Monarch)
My father is tacitly supporting my drinking habit. He bought me wine glasses for my birthday-- one that says "stressed is desserts backwards" and one that says "the more I learn about men, the more I love my kitties", and also a bottle of wine.

He bought himself an iPad, though.

Sigh.

Also, he said he bought a one-time timeshare in Orlando for five days that he wants to use in January when I'm on break. So I have to get my internship done in as few days as possible. And I'm going to need to get Dr. Giaccio to write me another scrip for Xanax, I'm almost out and there's no way I'm getting on an airplane without a few of those suckers in me.

I don't know where this money is coming from, since he's on disability and the Salvation Army is firing my mother. I'm pretty concerned about it, actually.

Ugh, I have to think about getting a new therapist. I don't want to have to tell someone new all about myself. I won't have to worry about it until May if I can get someone to drive me into Auburn for my appointments-- maybe Shane will.
