femmealunettes: (FOR GRATE LULZ : LOLianto)
THIS IS AN IMPORTANT LINK: Trying to Communicate
It is a Torchwood-meets-a-LOLcat story and it is POSSIBLY THE BEST THING EVER.

I went back to sleep. And Butcher woke me up again. By tearing up my collage. Again. I don't know what the hell to do to stop him besides completely lock him out every night and listen to him meow for an hour.

Okay, now this is a links post because I have 45 tabs open and that is just SILLY.

Anonymous Exposed is Scientology's attempt to demonize Scientology the same way they demonize anyone who says anything bad about them. But hey, the power of Anonymous is that it is legion, and they are pissed now. Wouldn't you be pissed if a Scientologist crashed your peaceful protest with a gun? Anons immediately responded to the flashed piece by following the guy around with a sign saying "THIS MAN HAS A GUN" until the cops pulled him out of the crowd.

Joss Whedon. Nathan Fillion. Neil Patrick Harris. The only word that can complete the list: MUSICAL. \o/!!!!!

Canadians are smarter than US Border Patrol, god bless their dope-growing souls. [livejournal.com profile] st_raoul, you have no idea how I envy you sometimes.... :P

An interview with the man who makes new drugs. Employed by the DEA, he doesn't just study what we have, he tests new compounds of his own creation. He and his wife are the most drugged people ever. Oh, and he's mostly responsible for ecstasy as we know it.

Commonly overused words. If I was ambitious, I would try to cut my use of some of these words in writing. As it stands, I'm going to make a half-serious attempt to remember some of them. >>

Six-word reviews of 763 SXSW mp3s. I snagged most of the 4 and 5-circles, and I haven't been disappointed yet!

I can has Shelfari! Readers, get one of these and start posting your bookshelf contents. I'm doing it very slowly...

Also check out BookLamp, which bills itself as Pandora for books. :O I haven't tried it out yet, but it looks awesome.

de-noted: money as art. It's a surprisingly versatile medium, sometimes! My favorite is "money is illogical, Captain."

The only thing that could make a drunk-driving checkpoint slower: police stop drivers to let a hedgehog across the road safely. xD He presumably reached Redwall safely, though he was not subjected to a breathalyzer test.

The American sex drive isn't just people-powered: it's a cyborg! Technology is now deeply intertwined with what we do to get off... and I'm not surprised. xD

Did you know that the peace sign was originally a British symbol calling for nuclear disarmament? And it's 50 years old today. Happy birthday, you iconic old sign, you.

Mission accomplished? Is Iraq still really a country? More to the point, is there any way to reverse the isolationism that has grown between small communities as a response to this drawn-out and unwanted war? Is it too optimistic to hope that this will find some sort of peaceful resolution within my lifetime? I hope it isn't...

Why you should always make sure your sex toys are securely hidden if you have kids... because otherwise, your kid might think it's a statue and then chew on it.

This is your brain on God: stimulating the brain with certain EM pulses to understand what causes the feeling of presences, past lives... and yes, even God. It's quite interesting, really.

Gay recruiting at a sweets shop? This person made bride-and-groom chocolate-dipped strawberries and sold both the brides... and people got offended when both the grooms were on one plate. What the hell, people. CHOCOLATE-DIPPED STRAWBERRIES WILL NOT TURN YOUR KIDS GAY. (Although, it's too late for that second lady's son...)

When girls will be boys: FtM students enrolled in women's colleges, and the debate surrounding where they belong. This is really remarkable, and if you only read one link from this post, make it this one, okay?

Sally Kern claimed that gays were worse than terrorists. A kid who lost his mother in the Oklahoma City bombing disagrees.

What would you call this color? Having people put names to the same shades and finding out how colors are dubbed through different perceptions.

....and I'm spent. This only took me 3 hours to compile... though, to be fair, I'm also reading a fairly epic Ianto story right now. >>

I love your linkspam. I'm strangely interested in gender issues, so I love that article.
