femmealunettes: (predator meet prey : Sylar/Peter)
I was going to make a more detailed Heroes post, but Julia snagged my computer and I forgot half of what I wanted to say. So, very brief comments:

Last things first: Um, rounding up special people... I think I've seen this before, except with Gandalf and Captain Picard. Ooooooon the other hand, if this means Sylar is going to be Professor X and hijack special kids before they can be taken into captivity... THAT WOULD BE FUCKING AWESOME.

Nathan Petrelli was a fucking tool this whole episode, and I can't say it's a surprising development with the way this season has been foreshadowing the epic Petrelli brothers showdown. Beating Peter up with a pipe was both hilarious and really upsetting at the same time. The fact that Peter saved his ass and Nathan just flew off after totally dissing him? Sad. Even more sad in the wake of Nathan saying that he pitied Peter.

ANDO IS MAGICAL. He makes other people's powers more awesome! THAT'S AWESOME. But you have to wonder what the effect is on people who don't have powers. And now he's the hero, and Hiro is the powerless sidekick. INTRIGUING DYNAMIC SHIFT, Y/Y?

I am officially ignoring the conversation between Sylar and Angela. LA LA LA LA Oh what did you say? She cheated on Arthur with Daniel Linderman? That whore! And then she had empathic twins? Well, I guess that makes sense when you cross a healer with a prophetic dreamer, kind of! LA LA LA LA oh look commercial break.

SYLAR. IN THIS WHOLE EPISODE. WAS SUCH A HOTASS. Sneaky, silver-tongued, misery-loves-company-and-welcome-to-my-party psychopath = lust levels through the roof. The whole dangled in midair thing? Sure, I'll take my serial killer in a Christlike pose, with extra dipping sauce please. His LEGS were just, so on the screen, and I want to be between them, okay thank you.

What else... the super!Marine's death was kind of sucky. He was a little bit cute. I am not sad to see Meredith go... I wish Tracy had gone too, but Mohinder did need a ride, so whatever, she can live for now. I am super-glad that Mohinder lost the scales, but I have to wonder if he kept the heightened senses/strength...

Okay, I have to bring this up again. Was anyone else made really uncomfortable by the Obama-analogue president so easily agreeing with Nathan's concentration camp idea? Because it made me squirm and left a bad taste in my mouth. Nathan hiding his own ability, still in political power... it looks like Five Years Gone, except he's not secretly Sylar, he's really just Nathan being a jackass...

*sigh*

For the most part, I'm pretty happy with this episode, though. My favorite people were hotasses, there was mindfuckery and well-placed punches, I got to shout at the screen and gasp a lot.

I'm glad you enjoyed the episode, because it's the last one we're getting until fucking FEBRUARY. ARGH!
I think Ando is gonna be kind of the anti-Arthur, and end up giving Hiro back his powers.

FEBRUARY? I thought it was coming back in January! Fuck!

Well, this'll give me time to try and make sense of the canon clusterfuck that was Volume Three....

ANDO IS THE NEW CATALYST< DUN DUN DUN actually I kind of hope Hiro doesn't get them back, not right away at least. He's been a jerk to Ando, he should have to suffer a little. >>

Lol, I was hoping Angela was Sylar's mom too, it seems like such a wasted storytelling opportunity. Still, it means I can ship them together again without people looking at me funny (and peter/sylar, too).

It was actually nice to see an Obama-lookalike as president. A little bit of real life in heroes, who knew? It's kind of hard to imagine what a real president would do in that situation- some of these evolved people are really dangerous. Sylar, for instance, could probably take out half the army all by himself. It depends really on what the camps are for and what conditions there are like.

I'm sad about Hiro losing his powers, but with his comedy rountines, he's always kind of been sidekick material. And he still has his sword, so he won't be totally useless.
