femmealunettes: (how about shut up? : Spock)
More meme! Three requested by [livejournal.com profile] moorishflower:

Threesomes!
I'm going 1 to 5 now, just to fuck with all y'all!

1. Kirk/Spock/McCoy. (Trek) I don't think I need to explain this. They are THE OT3.
2. Kirk/Spock/Uhura. (Trek) Thanks, ST:XI. Give me a bisexual threesome. x.x
3. Noah/Sandra/Claude. (Heroes) It's rare as fuck (I can only think of two stories that I didn't write) but, man, I love it so much.
4. Gabriel/Noah/Peter. (Heroes) But only in twinverse... yeah, yeah.
5. Mal/Jayne/Simon. (Firefly) Because... because, okay? Because yes. xD

BONUS: cheating because it's a foursome, not a threesome, but my god how can anyone watch Stargate Atlantis and not love John/Rodney/Teyla/Ronon? Stargate is good for fostering OT4s (yeah, I used to ship Jack/Daniel/Sam/Teal'c back in the day) and I am a sucker for a good group dynamic. (and "aliens made them do it." xD)

Books!

1. So You Want To Be A Wizard (& the rest of the Young Wizards series) by Diane Duane. My absolute favorite YA books ever in the world.

2. The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (& rest of them) by Douglas Adams. I'm really sad that I lost my huge compendium of all the books. I have NO FUCKING IDEA where it could be, but if I found it I would immediately start re-reading it because it's been too long since my last reread.

3. Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. He's got a lot of good ones, but Snow Crash is my favorite. Where else can you combine computer punk, skater culture, and a serious look into ancient religion with a fatalistic view toward consumer culture in the future? It's fucking AWESOME.

4. Rant by Chuck Palahniuk. Usually I pick Survivor, and it's a very close tie, but subject to another reading I think Rant might just beat it out. The idea of society completely split into daytimers and nighttimers is so weird and interesting.

5. Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. This is a random pick as I equally adore American Gods and Good Omens (oh shit, I'm TOTALLY bringing Good Omens on vacation now), and just about everything he does is absolute gold. Neverwhere gets the edge up because Richard is so wonderfully oblivious, he reminds me of Arthur Dent. xD

Pairings I had to be led to like a horse to water, and then my face stuck in the trough xD
1. Logan/Veronica (Veronica Mars) I didn't even like the show at first, but hey, I came around eventually.
2. Harry/Draco (Harry Potter) No seriously, I despised this pairing for a long time. Now I'll read just about any pairing if the premise is good enough. >.> I'm not a multishipper, I'm a pan-shipper...

Just so you know? This is really, really fucking hard, okay. I absorb pairings like a sponge, it's hard to remember anything I particularly dislike.

3. Jayne/River (Firefly) At first, I just didn't get it. It took some really great fic to get it into my head that it could work, and pretty well at that.
4. Nathan/Peter (Heroes) I resisted the Petrelli Sex Vortex for as long as I could...
5. I CAN'T THINK OF ANY MORE *breaks down* Wait wait okay, uh, Nick/Warrick (CSI) I was always more of a Nick/Greg shipper, but after some insistence by a persistent person, I caught the taste.

Asked by [livejournal.com profile] megmatthews20 and seconded by [livejournal.com profile] blossommorphine:

Mohinder!
1. Parasite. Just, all of Parasite, but you know what I specifically mean.
2. His dreams with Sanjog. I just really like how they were shot... and the whole bit with him looking for Sanjog in India.
3. Basically all of Powerless, but especially when he grabs the knife on Sylar... it was a brave attempt. xD
4. Both taxi rides with Peter, in S1 and S3.
5. Meeting "Zane Taylor", god, his SMILE and his ENTHUSIASM I miss S1 Mohinder...

NoYay pairings?
I had to look up what NoYay is... v.v And I don't know if you mean pairings that squick me, or my pairings that squick other people, so I'm going with the first.
1. Simon/River (Firefly) I can deal with brothercest, but heterosexual incest... not so much.
2. Either Petrelli parent/Either Petrelli son (Heroes) No, I've seen WAY more of this than should ever have existed and it ALL makes me go D:
3. Claire/Peter (Heroes) see note for #1.
4. Sirius/Harry (Harry Potter) Yeah, no, that's even creepier than intergenerational incest because Sirius totally sees James in Harry (not IN him, perverts) and that's unhealthy on SO many levels.
5. Jack/Gwen (Torchwood) I just don't like it, end of story.

Fetishes I blame on fandom.
Considering that I got into fandom at the ripe old age of 11, I blame ALL of my fetishes on fandom... and just to note, I've never actually indulged any of these. more's the pity.
1. Sleepy/snuggly/semiconscious sex. It's the level of trust and comfort that has to exist for someone to permit that, you know? (this fetish has been going on since about, oh, age 15.)
2. Washing/bathing/tending to injuries. Okay, I'm a fucking sap over blatant displays of care and trust, sue me. (this one, a little later. maybe 16ish.)
3. Older men, oh my god, I have had my thing for older men since season 1 of Buffy. It started with Giles and has not let up since. A little grey at the temples or a pair of wire-rims is like a trigger point for me. xD (age 12.)
4. Threesomes. I've already explained this in detail. xD
5. Genderswap/Genderfuck/Genderplay (yes, they're different) I don't even know when this started, but it's definitely fandom's fault.

Quoth the Vulcan:
1.Capt. Kirk: You'd make a splendid computer, Mr Spock.
Spock: [taken aback] That is very kind of you, Captain!

2. Spock: [after Kirk offers surrender terms to Nero] Captain, what are you doing?
Kirk: Showing them compassion. It may be the only way to earn peace with Romulus. It's logic, Spock, I thought you'd like that.
Spock: No, not really. Not this time.

3. McCoy: Perhaps we could cover a little philosophical ground. Life... Death... Life. Things of that nature.
Spock: I did not have time on Vulcan to review the philosophical disciplines.
McCoy: C'mon Spock, it's me, McCoy. You really have gone where no man's gone before. Can't you tell me what it felt like?
Spock: It would be impossible to discuss the subject without a common frame of reference.
McCoy: You're joking!
Spock: A joke... is a story with a humorous climax.
McCoy: You mean I have to die to discuss your insights on death?
Spock: Forgive me, doctor. I am receiving a number of distress calls.
McCoy: I don't doubt it.

4. Spock: Captain.
Kirk: Spock, we're on leave you can call me 'Jim'.
Spock: Jim.
Kirk: Yes, Spock?
Spock: Life... is not a dream.
Kirk: Go to sleep, Spock.

5. Spock: Curious. What Chief Vanderburg said about the horta is exactly what the mother horta said to me. She found humanoid appearance revolting... but she thought she could get used to it.
McCoy: Oh she did, did she. Now tell me, did she happen to make any comment about those ears?
Spock: Not specifically, but I did get the distinct impression she found them the most attractive human characteristic of all. I didn't have the heart to tell her that only I have...
Capt. Kirk: [interrupts Spock] She really like those ears?
Spock: Captain, the horta is a remarkably intelligent and sensitive creature... with impeccable taste.
Capt. Kirk: Because she approve of you?
Spock: Really Captain, my modesty...
Capt. Kirk: [interrupts Spock] ... does not bear close examination, Mr. Spock. I suspect you're becoming more and more human all the time.
Spock: [surprised... a little] Captain, I see no reason to stand here and be insulted.
[walks away]

Bonus: Spock: Where would you estimate we belong, Miss Keeler?
Edith Keeler: You? At his side, as if you've always been there and always will.

Favorite Trek pairings ♥
1. Kirk/Spock/McCoy, fuck you, it does too count, even if there are three of them.
2. Sulu/Chekov. Awww.
3. Holodoc/Seven of Nine. Shut up, they were so cute. I will never forget them singing "someone to watch over me".
4. Garak/Bashir. Because they're totally canon.
5. Picard/Q. Needs no explanation.

Huge compendium...you mean the colossus that was all the books in one hardcover copy of about a thousand pages? How on earth could you lose that, it's like 4 inches thick.

Yes, that. I think I loaned it to somebody, but I can't remember. Oh well.

I loved that book. I had it borrowed from the school library for like, 4 months, back before the librarian started hating me because I buddied up to the A/V guy and spent lunch & study hall in the copy room watching CNN on TV.

Picard/Q! Omg, if I had been into Next Gen fic I would so have been into that, I can see it now... @_@

Jayne/River squicks and confuses me.... I can see him being attracted to her, but not vice-versa, and even if I were to maybe accept that... it still squicks me.

I understand how it can squick you. It weirded me out at first... it helps when the story has her approaching him and confusing the fuck out of him with her Guided Laser Beams Of Crazy. xD

Hmmm... I suppose I could possibly be converted. I think my main problem is that I have a hard time shipping River with anyone. Except, oddly, Echo from Dollhouse. XD

Older men, omg... During middle/high school, 95% of the guys were unattractive to me, and I didn't realize why at the time, but of course, I now realize it was because - Dude, they were actually my own age!

So bad... XD

Oh yeah, I definitely had a lot of crushes on teachers. There were these two who shared a classroom, Mr. Beaudin (English) and Mr. LaRose (history) and I took electives with both of them and just, oh man, the banter and how adorable they were with each other and they were very physically complementary and...

oooh, happy memories of high school. xD

Damnit, now I have to read Rant. My list of reasons for wanting to has reached a critical mass. Then again, I think that every Chuck Palahniuk book I own was purchased at the airport before a flight, so maybe I'll wait until next month to buy it so I can continue that tradition.

It's kind of funny, I was nodding along like mad to your NoYay pick of Simon/River, but when I got to Peter/Claire, I was like ?? because they've never struck me as being at all similar. I see your point, of course, but it was a bit of a perplexing moment. o.O

And, oh man, now I want to go watch some DS9. Garak/Bashir was indeed totally canon. ^_^

It is SUCH a good book. If you do wait, I hope they have it at the airport!

*heh* Yeah, I don't know, any Petrellicest that isn't brotherly weirds me out...

♥ I kind of miss watching that show. I need to see when reruns air...

We all miss S1 Mohinder. Maybe Candice has been impersonating him all this time under Arthur's orders? *is in denial as usual*

Yup, the first one, and I agree with all those pairings do squick me as well. It just seem very unhealthy for those reasons. And I definitely blame fandom for all of my fetishes as well, read them since I was twelve, but started reading porn (or as they are popularly called, "True Love" magazine) around eight. I was born a pervert. XD

I love all those quotes, but I feel you were missing the best one of all: "Captain, not in front of the Klingons!"

I agree with all of those pairings (especially G/B *__*) but the first, simply because I think I ship everyone x everyone on that damn ship. Too much fine, oh yes.

Haha! I stole my mom's romance novels when I was eight, too! xD

"Captain, not in front of the Klingons!"
I definitely considered that one, but I had to go with the multi-liners. xD It was a grievous exclusion.

I can pretty much multiship everyone in TOS except Scotty. (Sorry, Scotty.) In the new movie though? FREE FOR ALL. (and there was that one OT7 fic in the kink meme...)
