just nod if you can hear me...

femmealunettes: (bored now.)
I'm going to stop whining now and make a serious proposal. I realize that my journal is incredibly boring and diary-like, and I remember a time in the distant past when I used to be more interesting.

So. Please give me a topic to talk about. It can be serious like psychology or politics, uncomfortable like religion or sex, or neutral like hats or, I don't know, the history of cats. If you ask for something with a narrow focus that I don't know about, I'll research it.

I feel like I'm existing in a vacuum. But if I'm a vacuum I'm going to try and suck some people close enough to talk to.

Now I'm going to take my fruity pebbles and go read.

IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every section of the movie, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...

hit it! )

...because it's 4:30 a.m., I'm not tired, and I'm taking a break from the thorough cleaning of my room.

First, the what poet are you quiz tells me that I am Robert Frost )

Secondly, fun pictures:

Third, music!

The Divine Comedy - The Happy Goth
I thought this was a cute song.
Well her clothes are blacker than the blackest cloth
And her face is whiter than the snows of Hoth.
She wears Dr. Martens and a heavy cross,
But on the inside she's a happy goth.

Placebo - Running Up That Hill (Kate Bush cover)
[livejournal.com profile] kikkirhodes asked me for this, so now it's getting the public share.

Basia Bulat - Why Can't It Be Mine?
I know I shared this before, but only one person downloaded it, and that makes me sad, because it's a really pretty song. So... download it, or I will make sad faces.

And now, to the questions-- because some things I can't write a whole entry on.

How do you feel about an 18 year old chick dating a 26 year old dude? Skeevy at best. 20 and 28 isn't so bad, but at 18 it's iffy. Let's put it this way: if I found out a 26-year-old was making a move on my 18-year-old sister, I would be extremely uncomfortable with that situation.

If I haven't talked to an ex for two years and I don't think she wants to talk to me, what do you think is the most creative one-sentence statement I could make in her livejournal? That depends on the impression to be left on her... I would go with, "Whatever you do, don't look out your window tonight."

Is Jonathan Owen a good or bad name combination for a kid? Depends on the last name, but I like it!

And I will request help; I can't tackle Alton Brown vs. Rachel Ray in a death match of smarmy vs. obnoxious. on my own, as I never (no, NEVER) watch the Food Network. PLZ WEIGH IN.

"Early primates concern presidential candidates"... ah, I'm so funny when I misread newspaper headlines. xD

Today was fun, I listened to podfic while I put pretzels in bags for distribution. xD Two-hour days mean it'll be 10 1/2 more until I'm done, and she doesn't need me tomorrow, and I can't go Thursday because I have an appointment with Gitlin. Still, I'm going to be done before January will be.

While I was gone Cypher finished downloading. David Hewlett is owning my watchtime, and I'm not complaining.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] maggiesox, you wrote about that movie last night? I had a dream that I met Kevin Smith at a hotel and asked him a bunch of questions about it. WEIRD. (also there was a megastore, and my siblings, and flying monkeys patrolling the aisles.)

I bought aleomestria and a stargazer lily on my way home, and I'm keeping them on my desk to prevent the cats eating them. I hope it'll work; they're very pretty. I also bought a book about making your own root beer and soda from the winery shop next to JCEO, where they also sell flavorings, so that'll be fun to play with. :D

It's funny (sort of) that I get so much satisfaction out of my days doing community service. I like helping people. I just wish I could get a job doing it.
