My dad just threw his back out while in the shower, and when he yelled to my sister for help, she thought he just wanted her attention so she ignored him.

I had to help my mom pick the bathroom door lock.

God, when my mom started yelling, "Dennis, what's wrong?" I immediately thought of six different worst-case scenarios. I am shaking with nausea at what could have happened, what I was terrified had happened.

eta: Okay, I just found out (from my sister) that she didn't ignore him, she ran to get Mom, which was exactly right of her, and my mom accused her of ignoring him because she didn't know that he threw out his back. So: Rachael is not a bad person. (Not that I usually think she is, just clarifying.)

Opus, the comic, ended today.

I've been a fan of Berkely Breathed since I found a Bloom County collection in Chris and Michelle Anthony's house... seven years ago? It's made me crack up, and sometimes it's made me tear up, but the very last panel of the very last comic pretty much broke my heart.

I went and did the nursing home outreach with my mother, since I didn't (have to) go to church this morning. Old people... are kind of adorable sometimes. As soon as I walked in this guy with a huge nose came up and held my hand and started talking to me... in Italian. Which explained the nose. I didn't understand a word he said, but I smiled and he smiled back, so that was good.

Basically the outreach consisted of: listening to my mom go on for half an hour, singing a few songs while listening to my mom go on in between them, and then helping people get out of the common room. Seriously, there were two residents there who weren't in wheelchairs. It would have made an AWESOME elderly roller derby.

I started Dreams From My Father while my mom ran a couple errands, and, oh man. I love Obama's writing style already and I'm only half a chapter in. The way he picks his words, strings together his phrases... thumbs way up.

Now I'm going to finish Season 1 of Heroes with my mom. \o/ Three episodes to go.

This made me smile SO HARD. Masi Oka randomly attacking Sendhil Ramamurthy with hugs? ADORABLE.

Okay, so. I nudge on this every so often because, well, I'm not sure who's on it or the last time I offered the chance. SO.

I cannot believe it's only 8. It feels like 11. Tonight is going to be an early night for me, but I have to put in at least ten minutes on the sequel to Do the Time Warp Again (which was a COMPLETELY LAME title, y/y) so I can claim my Miserable Fuck duty done.

Hmmm. I think I know what I will be inebriated on for Election Night, and it isn't alcohol. :3

....my little sister stole me an Obama/Biden sign from the house of someone she hates. I put it up over my bookshelf. ^_^;

I am not a camera whore, but sometimes I wish that I had someone who would take pictures for me. It's hard to be cute when you're shooting from arm's length...
