something to come home to

Ask me a question. About anything. Want to know something about me? Want to know what I think of something? Want to know something about my writing? Whatever you're curious about, pose it. I'll answer as thoroughly and as honestly as I can.

Seriously, I expect questions to answer by Sunday night. Doing this and catching up on the letter meme should occupy me while waiting for Sherlock to download. :D

Now, drinking and guitar hero!

Mob Witness. One part amaretto, two parts Dr. Pepper, maraschino cherry juice and as many cherries as I feel like eating. I love amaretto.

Hmmm...

What's your favourite thing about sex?

What's your fondest memory of Butcher?

Do you doodle? If so, what do you doodle?

And, uh, while I'm asking things of you: Would you be terribly offended if I made my own recording of History? You kind of inspired me to try it. I won't go posting it or pimping it or anything--it's just something I'd kind of like to do. If you wanted to, though, I'd let you listen...

My favorite thing about sex is probably the incredible sounds you can get your partner to make if you find one of their hot spots. Two days ago I was biting Jon's neck and the gasp he made was fantastic. :D Of course, orgasms are good too, but I like giving pleasure as much as receiving it.

My fondest memory of Butcher... hm. I have a couple of really fond memories of taking naps with him when he was a kitten. He won't sleep with me any more.

I do occasionally doodle. Mostly flowers and geometric shapes, I do a lot of spirals and boxes, sometimes anime-style faces, occasionally cats. I'm not a very skilled artist.

I wouldn't be offended, no. Have you cleared it with [livejournal.com profile] gyzym yet?

I haven't cleared it with her, no, but I will. This was pretty much just intended to be a "'Nita plays around with shit for her own amusement" kind of project, but I know and respect you, and I didn't want to mention my sandboxing in passing or something and have you think I was trying to steal your thunder when, really, I'm just occupying myself at random moments. So I asked you first. ^_^

Nice, very creative idea.

Okay, here's one that I'm curious about both about you and in the objective sense. When you're writing, what kinds of ideas tend to capture your imagination -- i.e. what makes you go, now I must write a story about that. And you mentioned that you tend not to write angst (I'm so the opposite of you there; angst draws me like a candle flame :D ) but when you do write sad things, how much of your own life experiences informs that, and how much is pure imagination? I'm sorry to make this ultra-long; I just wanted to explain the question so that you'd know what I'm asking. I remember asking this to a writing teacher I had once, and his response was that a good writer should be able to imagine things he or she hasn't experienced, that there was no need to let experience inform it at all, but then I felt guilty because sometimes my best way of dealing with something is to write a story. So I'm wondering where you'd put yourself on that continuum, and why?

Okay, mostly I write porn, and my most productive periods tend to coincide with kink memes. So... prompts catch my imagination, lol. I like exploring characters in intimate situations, which sounds pretentious but I do think I pack a lot of characterization into my pr0ns.

As for angst, my life experiences are pretty slim pickings for inspiration there. Sure, I wrote my way past a breakup or two, and I basically threw myself into roleplaying as an escape route after my grandmother died, but I don't make characters go through the things I go through because my life is BORING. I'm not very good at coming up with tragedy, but when I do write angst it's mostly imagination with maybe just a sprinkling of real experience to give me a personal vantage point on the scenario.

FUN KWESCHUNS
k. I'm copying these from my formspring but they're fun questions so meh ;)

What is your most comforting tangible, bound book to hold, paw through, and read?

You have the power to cancel any currently-running TV series, without hope of revival. What show do you choose? & conversely,

You can bring back one canceled (or ended) television show and retain complete creative control over it. Which show and what would you do?

You can pick three fictional villains to enjoy croquet and a nice cup of tea and biscuits with. Who do you pick?

If you could smoke a bong with up to 3 real people from any time in human history, who would you pick to get high with?

What does your dream house look like? Is it a house, an apartment, a mansion, what have you? What sort of rooms would be in it? What sort of crazy, out-of-your-reach furniture & decorations would you install?

Re: FUN KWESCHUNS
My most comforting book is my compilation of the first three Young Wizards books by Diane Duane. I can't even count how many times I've picked that book up.

I would cancel American Idol. I hate that shit.

I would bring back Pushing Daisies, because that show deserved SO much better than the ending it got. I don't even have anything amazing to do with it, I'd just want them to continue with the storyline they had to try to wrap up in one episode. I want to know what was meant to happen, dammit.

Gabriel Gray from Heroes, Dexter Morgan from Dexter, and Gentleman Johnnie Marcone from the Dresden Files. Although I don't know how wise it would be to give any of those men a croquet mallet.

Carl Sagan, Oscar Wilde, and Ani DiFranco. And it would have to be a gravity bong.

My dream house is a two-story house on the Massachusetts coast. It would have a big yard with an inground pool and a giant trampoline and at least one hammock. The kitchen would be done in black marble and stainless steel and there would be a breakfast nook. There would be bay windows in the living room and the library, with window seats. The basement would be an awesome home theater. The most important feature of the house would be the cats. There would be at least three of them.

Who would be first choice for a cross-over ship, no matter how impossible?

Also, did you see the Obsession Mix I posted for your birthday?

I don't spend a lot of time thinking about crossovers, but I would absolutely die to get some banter between Tony Stark and Neal Caffrey.

I did see it, I just didn't get a chance to download it until just now! I was going to leave you a comment once I listen to it, which should be tomorrow afternoon.

Tony/Neal would be awesome and seriously hot and I can already see a few scenarios.

No worries on comments. Just wanted to make sure it hadn't floated under your radar.
