[livejournal.com profile] kittysorceress asked:

1. What was the most difficult fic you've recorded?

The most technically difficult was Monster, because I kept coming up with problems with that one. I had to re-record it three times, the last time after it was pointed out to me that the version I had posted was missing a whole bunch of the middle of the story.

The most difficult in general was History, Repeating Itself simply because of the size of it. I had to record different parts of it in different places, my mother and sisters kept walking in on me, it took me over a month to finish it-- and actually the anniversary of the start of recording is in a few days!

But the thing is, the ones that are the most difficult are usually the most rewarding. I still consider History, Repeating Itself to be the best podfic I've ever recorded, and Monster turned out so well when I finally got it right.

2. What do you think Sherlock's drink of choice would be?

I always imagine he drinks black tea with too much sugar. Unless you mean alcoholic drink, in which case he seems like the kind of guy that would wait for a very good excuse to drink something brightly-colored and fruity.

3. What is your most favourite album of all time?

Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie. Runners-up include From Under the Cork Tree by Fall Out Boy, The Life of the World to Come by the Mountain Goats, and Canon by Ani DiFranco.

4. Where would you go to see the perfect sunset?

I walk down the hill and cross the street when I'm at Wells and I go sit on the dock. I've seen so many gorgeous sunsets either there or from the rocks at the edge of the lake.

5. How do you like to get your daily/weekly/annual exercise?

I like doing yoga, but I'm very bad at staying motivated so I really need to have it as a class to keep doing it regularly. When school starts up again I'll be doing it twice a week. I'm not really very active besides that... I go on walks sometimes, that's about it.

You know, remind me to ask you about Death Cab for Cutie sometime. Because I have exactly two of their songs that I've ever heard in my life ("Follow You Into the Dark" and "When Soul Meets Body") and they both get looped a phenomenal amount considering just how much music I have. How did you get into them, and why do they appeal to you?

And if you'd like to give me some questions, I am a sucker for these memes. :)

The very first DCFC song (Title and Registration) I heard was on a mix put together for me by my first college boyfriend's roommate. Abram dumped me hard and I was taking it really badly and Justin put together a CD for me that I listened to obsessively and that did a lot to help me out of my depression-- or at least stay functional. I didn't hear anything else by them for a while, but when I did download as much of the discography as I could get my hands on, I fell in love forever with Ben Gibbard's voice and with the hopeful/wistful/semi-romantic lyrics of most of the songs. I just love their whole sound, and I am a total sucker for good lyrics.

1. What appeals to you so much about angst?
2. If you could share one song with everyone you know, what song would you pick?
3. What's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten? What's the best thing you've ever tasted? What's your comfort food?
4. How do you de-stress?
5. What's the aspect of your personality that you're most happy/comfortable with/proud of?

hopeful/wistful/semi-romantic lyrics ... Suuuuuuuure, tempt me when I have no money. :D That's a very beautiful way to describe it. It's a beautiful story, too -- it's funny just what music mixes can mean, but they really do.

I'm getting started on the questions. Since, y'know, this is what geeks do on Friday nights, right?

Congratulations on the tattoo!

Well, the album title in the post is a link to the album as a zip file, if you don't have any objection to previewing music before you buy it. Title and Registration and Transatlanticism really hit me right in the wistful, We Looked Like Giants fits the semi-romantic, and Passenger Seat is definitely the most hopeful track.

I wasn't aware that geeks did anything else on Friday nights except muck around on LJ. xD

Thanks!

We watch Dr. Who...

Oooh, don't forget writing porn. Although that qualifies as mucking around LJ. :D

Actually, as I was writing that comment, I was ordering the Transatlantic album from Amazon. So no, no problem at all previewing the music since I have a purchased album already on the way. Thanks!

I watch Doctor Who either late Saturday night or sometime Sunday afternoon. xD

And yeah, I'm also working on writing porn... I have a lot of Kink Bingo squares to fill! Although I'm kind of hung up on doing research for this one-- I can't remember what episode this character gets his tattoo and it bothers the hell out of me to get canon wrong, but google is not helping me out here, I know WHAT his tattoo is, I just don't remember when he got it!

♥ I hope you will enjoy it, it's really my favorite album of all time.

ETA: the link isn't working. Is it just my computer?

The first time I clicked it, it looked like Mediafire was down, but when I reloaded it it came up fine. Try it one more time?

I think Mediafire is having a bad night. :D

I'll try it tomorrow, I promise. :)

Sorry it's not working! I hate it when links go down. If it's not fixed by tomorrow, let me know and I'll upload it to Megaupload for you.
