Today I went to the eye doctor!

I was informed that I have astigmatism-- which, uh, none of my previous eye doctors have seen fit to mention? I didn't know. The last one told me about a freckle on the back of my damn eyeball but forgot the astigmatism? What even? But also that my prescription has gotten slightly worse, not even bad enough to require new glasses, except I am only on my parents' insurance for another 42 days so you're damn right I'm taking advantage of that fact. I tried on so many pairs of glasses and finally settled on a stainless steel pair of top-rimmed frames with some kind of mother-of-pearl thing going on on the sides that actually look a bit like what I intended to get in the first place, and a wire framed pair that are interestingly shaped (not quite rectangular, they're some sort of quadrilateral) and black on the outside and green on the inside. I almost-- ALMOST-- got a pair of Harry Potter glasses, but the range of vision was too small and I decided against them after about fifteen minutes of debate. I really did like them, if they'd been a little bit bigger I would have got them.

I am not sure when I will be getting them-- I'm assuming a couple of weeks-- but there will be plenty of pictures once I have them in my possession, fear not, noble flist.

In the meantime-- oh, I really need to get on recording this last help_japan podfic, but 6000 words is SO MANY WORDS, I'm tired just thinking about it. I have to do it in parts and I'm scared to leave anything sitting on this computer because I have a very valid fear that it will overheat and I'll just have to go back and do it all over again. There's nothing worse than having to record a long podfic over and over again for whatever reason-- I'm reminded of how many times I had to record Monster, and that was one I chose to do, even. I could just do it twenty minutes at a time and do the editing and saving after each bit, but. Whine.

And I have been watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and it's actually really cool, okay? The animation is awesome and I like the characters. And I'm massively entertained by the thought of "bronies", fully-grown men who fanboy MLP, and say things like "everypony" and "somepony" when they're talking about people.

Another thing I really need to do is clean my room. But I have no drive to get anything done today, it's so hot and blah-making out. I might just take a book and go lie on the hammock for the rest of the afternoon.
